Statuses
Statuses
Statuses are workflow states that help you track where a conversation or task stands. Use them to triage, prioritize, and move work through your pipeline.
Built-in Statuses
Every workspace starts with a set of default statuses. These cover the most common workflow:
Work not yet started. Default status for new conversations.
Actively being worked on.
Waiting for review or approval.
Completed work. Moves to closed state.
No longer needed. Closed state.
Open vs Closed
Every status is either open or closed:
- Open statuses — appear in the default conversation list view. Active work lives here.
- Closed statuses — hidden from the default view but searchable and filterable. Use them for completed or cancelled work without clutter.
Custom Statuses
Add your own statuses in Settings → Statuses. Each status has:
- A name (shown in the UI)
- A color (for the dot indicator)
- An icon (optional emoji or icon)
- Open or closed state
- A position in the ordered list
Custom statuses are workspace-specific. Different workspaces can have completely different status workflows.
Filtering by Status
In the conversation sidebar, click Filter and select one or more statuses to narrow the list. You can combine status filters with label filters for precise queries like:
Archiving
Any conversation can be archived independently of its status. Archived conversations are hidden from all views by default and don't show in search results unless you explicitly include them.
Archive a conversation by right-clicking it in the sidebar, or pressing ⌘⌫. To view archived conversations, use the Archived filter in the sidebar.
